This circuit will be one of our most challenging walks (12 km) and will take between 4-4.5 hours to complete. A significant amount of our walk will follow Cowan (salt water) and Cockle Creek (fresh water). Hiking boots are a necessity for this walk.
Sue and I completed the walk in 4.5 hours on Tues 17/4/18. It is a really beautiful, worthwhile, albeit long walk. The challenging aspect of this particular walk is that the steps frequently are quite deep. Both Sue and I used TREKKING POLES, which we found were very beneficial both to prevent sausage fingers and to lever/ steady ourselves. I strongly recommend investing in a pair. Hiking boots are a requirement as there can be quite a lot of foliage on the ground. The walk is on a par with the Mount Kuring- gai National Park walk we did 2017. The good news is that we do not have the massive ascent at the completion of the walk.
