As an extra activity in this five-week month we are going to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens where spring flowers should be at their best. The Calyx opened in 2017. Designed by PTW Architects with landscape architecture by McGregor Coxall, it presents a striking geometric volume that is a protective layer and a lens that frames cinematic moments. Of further interest – the Calyx presents the most devious plants in the plant world.
The Calyx will re-open on 1 October with a new display – ‘Plants with Bite’ – and anyone who knows this place will know what a show they put on. If you haven’t been before, you are in for a real treat. There is a café where we can have lunch or coffee.
