Book Group Annual Lunch and Voting Meeting

All Book Group members are invited to the annual Book Group Lunch, where we will talk books and vote on our book choices for 2019.

Date: Tuesday 13 November 2018

Time: 12.45pm for 1.00pm

Venue: The Rani Room, ground floor, Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA), 1 New Beach Road, Darling Point.

This is a very attractive location which hosts the annual Sydney/Hobart Yacht Race and has recently been refurbished to host the sailing events of the Invictus Games.

MENU: See Captain’s Menu below. Shared starter followed by main course. Menu will cater for all food requirements, to be selected on the day. Waiter service. Drinks to be ordered and paid for as you go at the bar.

TRANSPORT:

This is a very accessible venue.

By train – Edgecliff Station, cross road, 10 minute walk down the hill to New Beach Road on the right

By bus – 324 and 325 buses run regularly from the city (Town Hall, QVB, York Street, Stand A) Takes about 15 minutes. Alight at junction of New South Head Road and New Beach Road, stop after Vibe Hotel and Rushcutters Park on your left. Five minute walk.

By car – Car pool or take an Uber. There is limited parking on the street.

To start – share platters served down the centre of the table:
Roma tomato and basil bruschetta (v); Mixed grilled breads – garlic, olive and tomato; Crumbed whiting fillets with tartare and lemon; Yellow fin tuna sashimi with fried shallot, shisho and ponzu.
Mains – guests to select from: Gluten free penne pasta with eggplant, baby capers, basil and Napoli (V) (GF); Black Angus rump with chips and Café de Paris butter; Grilled fish of the day with caper butter sauce, chips and salad; Chicken schnitzel – crumbed free range chicken breast with slaw and chips.
