Taste of Migration – A Cultural Tasting Tour

Food can be a language shared between individuals and many different cultures.  For this monthly activity, we will discover how waves of migration changed the way Australians eat. We will learn the unique food stories and indulge in delicious hearty dishes of Lebanese, Vietnamese and Greek cuisine by visiting 7-8 exciting food spots in Bankstown. Through this short to medium walk (about 200m between sites) our guide will walk us through this cultural tasting journey, where we will meet generous and friendly local business owners. We will listen to their fascinating stories and perhaps learn recipes that came from long journeys.  We will eat ample food equivalent to a generous full meal and more. Options for vegetarian and gluten free are available, as is seating. This tour also offers shopping opportunities for the foodies amongst us.

DATE: Thursday 2 May 2019

TIME: 10.30am – 1.30pm (Tour)

VENUE: Bankstown (meet at Bankstown Train Station at 10.30am sharp)

COST: $65 including all meals (equivalent to full meal and more)
