The first event for our 2022 Calendar is a guided tour of ‘Matisse: Life and Spirit’ at the Art Gallery of NSW. Developed in partnership between the Art Gallery of NSW and the Centre Pompidou Paris, ‘Matisse: Life and Spirit’ is the greatest single exhibition of the artist’s work ever to be seen in Sydney. Through these works we find Matisse renewing his vision time and time again, continually seeking new ways to celebrate life as he saw it.
DATE: WEDNESDAY 16 February 2022 (Note change of day)
TIME: 9.30am -10.30am
Note: Owing to the major expansion construction works for the Sydney Modern Project, entry to the AGNSW is via a temporary tunnel from Art Gallery Road. You will need to sign in using the QR Code and show your Vaccination Certificate before entering the Art Gallery. Please enter via the tunnel to meet no later than 9.20am outside the AGNSW and sign in using the QR Code.

TRANSPORT: The NSW Art Gallery is located on the Eastern side of Sydney’s CBD, next to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Domain, just down the road from St Mary’s Cathedral. The Art Gallery is approximately a 5-minute walk from Macquarie Street, across the Domain, or from Hyde Park. Owing to construction works there is a very limited bus service and minimal street parking options.
