Our first stop is a visit to Manly Art Gallery & Museum. This is the first metropolitan based regional gallery in NSW, established in 1930. It is a small gallery with an interesting collection of works. The new exhibition will be from 6 June until 27 July. It foregrounds the work of artists who enfold time and space, positioning us in relationship to an “environment” that is shaped by cultural, spiritual, political social and intellectual forces.

From here we will walk to Harbord Diggers along Manly, Queenscliff and Freshwater beaches and boardwalk hoping to see some whales. It’s an easy walk (7 km round trip) with marvellous views and a few steps between Queenscliff and Freshwater.

Lunch at the Harbord Diggers, for those who would like, then walk back to Manly wharf. Option to take the bus from the Diggers back to the wharf.

TIME: 10 am – 12 plus lunch time

MEETING POINT: Manly Wharf, outside the information centre at 10 am.
