[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The October Monthly Activity is about making a difference. I hope you will join me on a visit to THREAD TOGETHER on Thursday 27 October 2016. The idea is that we come together as SWIC Members and join forces to help those in need.
Our host is Greg Fisher – General Manager THEAD TOGETHER.
The TT Story: Since 2012 over $4,000,000 of new clothes have been sourced from 40 clothing manufacturer partners, then sorted and distributed to over 50,000 people in need, both directly and through partner charities across Australia.
Our Special Program:
- Welcome from TT including a short video and program details, then an introduction to the charity that SWIC will be helping
- Morning Tea
- Sorting time for the Thread Together Wardrobe Initiative – all hands on deck!
- Lunch and chatting with staff
- Back to our tasks
Outcomes:
- Expect to have a day of fun getting to know other SWIC Members
- Expect to be engaged in how the not for profit sector works, how it is funded and achieves financial sustainability
- Expect to learn about the environmental benefits of TT’s charity

Note: The maximum number for this event is 30 members. Should we exceed the number of members wishing to assist I will try to arrange a further visit.

TIME: 10.30am – 2.00pm

Meet at the main entrance at 10.25am
COST: $25.00 donation payable on the day. This includes Morning Tea. Unlimited Tea/Coffee and cold drinks provided. BYO sandwich lunch
Whilst Thread Together is very grateful to receive extra hands, a contribution to its modest operational costs is sought. Every $5 received will provide a full wardrobe of new clothes to someone in need.
