DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]‘Thread Together’ is a Not for Profit Program Supporting Women & Children\, Refugees and many others. \nThe June Monthly Activity is about making a difference. I hope you will join me on a visit to THREAD TOGETHER on Thursday 23 June. Our host is Greg Fisher\, General Manager of THREAD TOGETHER. \nThe TT Story: Since 2012 over $4\,000\,000 of new clothes have been sourced from 40 clothing manufacturer partners\, then sorted and distributed to over 50\,000 people in need\, both directly and through partner charities across Australia. The idea is that we come together as SWIC members and join forces to help those in need. \nThe Program: Welcome from TT including a short video and program details then an introduction to the charity we will be helping. Then it is time to sort the new donated clothes. Expect to have a day of fun getting to know other SWIC Members. Expect to be engaged in how the not-for-profit sector works\, how it is funded and achieves financial sustainability. Expect to learn about the environmental benefits of TT’s charity. \nPlease note that maximum number for this event is 30 members. Should we exceed the number of members wishing to assist\, I will try to arrange a further visit. \nDATE: Thursday 23 June 2016 \nTIME: 10.30am -2.00pm \nVENUE: THREAD TOGETHER Distribution Centre\, 1 Anderson Street\, Banksmeadow NSW 2019 (Note changed address) \nMeet at the main entrance at 10.25am \nCOST: $25.00 donation includes Morning Tea. A national manhunt ensues\, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive in this hilarious and heartfelt adventure. \nMUSTANG \nRelease: 23 June 2016 \nStarring Günes Sensoy\, Doga Zeynep Doguslu\, Tugba Sunguroglu.  Directed by Deniz Gamze Ergüven.  Classification: M (Mature themes\, sexual references and violence)\, 97 mins.  Language: Turkish (subtitled). \nEarly summer in a village in Northern Turkey. Five free-spirited teenaged sisters splash about on the beach with their male classmates. Though their games are merely innocent fun\, a neighbour passes by and reports what she considers to be illicit behaviour to the girls’ family. The family overreacts\, removing all “instruments of corruption\,” like cell phones and computers\, and essentially imprisoning the girls\, subjecting them to endless lessons in housework in preparation for them to become brides. As the eldest sisters are married off\, the younger ones bond together to avoid the same fate. The fierce love between them empowers them to rebel and chase a future where they can determine their own lives in Deniz Gamze Ergüven’s debut\, a powerful portrait of female empowerment. \nTHE MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY \nStarring Jeremy Irons\, Dev Patel\, Stephen Fry.  Directed by Matt Brown.  Classification: PG (Mild themes)\, 108 mins. \nThe astonishing true story of Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyenga\, born into poverty in India before gaining entry to Cambridge University\, where he changed the face of modern mathematics. \n  \n [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
