SUMMARY:First Thursdays: Ladies' Night Out - The Oaks\, Neutral bay
DESCRIPTION:Every once and a while we all need a night out with like-minded ladies for a drink and a laugh! Come just for an hour\, or come for the evening. This is a low key event just to get out and enjoy a bit of Sydney nightlife after work or some quick “adult-time” before family members get home. If you are having a blast\, keep the fun rolling with dinner with your new friends…. \nDATE: 7 December 2017 \nTIME 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nVENUE: The Oaks\, Neutral Bay\, 118 Military Rd\, Neutral Bay NSW 2089 \nWe’re not sure how many of you will have abandoned Sydney by this point and with Holiday Parties it may be a total Madhouse. We’re going to try something a little different…. We are going to invite everyone north of the Harbour Bridge to one of Sydney’s most famous pubs\, and by the way they do some of the best steaks in Sydney. \nWebsite: http://www.oakshotel.com.au \nCOST: Pay your own way at the bar. Food also available for purchase at the bar. Some of the best steaks in Sydney…. \nRSVP TO: swicniteout@gmail.com \nStephanie’s mobile: 0499 420 123 (Please rsvp by email. Phone is provided in case you get lost on the day or need to cancel last minute) \nRSVP BY: Tuesday 5 December \nTRANSPORT: \nThe easiest access to The Oaks from the CBD is to take any bus from Wynyard Carrington Stand A (be sure not to get on one of the express buses from the other stands unless you ask if they are stopping at Big Bear Shopping Centre!) and get off at the first stop\, Big Bear Shopping Centre. Continue along the pavement for about a minute and you will see the Oaks’ first entrance with a huge plate glass window with a lovely maiden and jug of water fountain. Pass through to the garden at the back and prepare to be amazed! \nWe know this is an extra hop for some of you\, but this really is a special venue and we are also afraid we may have trouble booking a venue in the CBD in the holiday season\, so we hope you folks that are not from the North Shore would be willing to cross over and see something new. I promise you\, it’s worth it! \n

SUMMARY:Movie Group
DESCRIPTION:The films for Tuesday 23 January 2018 at the Dendy Opera Quays cinemas are at the following times: \n9.30am – The Greatest Showman \nThe story of American showman P.T. Barnum\, founder of the circus that became the famous traveling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. \n10.00am – Darkest Hour \nA thrilling and inspiring true story begins on the eve of World War II as\, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain\, Winston Churchill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany\, or standing firm to fight for the ideals\, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent\, and with an unprepared public\, a sceptical King\, and his own party plotting against him\, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour\, rally a nation\, and attempt to change the course of world history. \n10.30am – The Post \nA cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents pushed the country’s first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between journalist and government. Inspired by true events. \nPlease decide which film you wish to see and buy your own ticket. \nWe usually meet in the foyer before the films. \nAfterwards we go for a coffee or  light lunch. The films finish at different times\, so after your film make your way to the upstairs section of the  CityExtra Café/ Restaurant opposite the Circular Quay Ferry Terminal wharves. Please ask for a large table for 10 or more members. \nNo need to RSVP\, just come along. \nJill Surgeon (Convenor)
