SUMMARY:Art & Culture - Macquarie Group’s Emerging Artist Prize & Exhibition at ‘Space Gallery' (NOW FULL)

From a high-calibre field of entries\, nine finalists have been selected. \nOur visit will include an introduction to the Macquarie Collection.  Since 1987 the Macquarie Group Collection has been acquiring works by emerging Australian artists. More than 800 works are on display in around 40 Macquarie offices globally. \nDATE: Tuesday 20 August 2019 \nTIME:  11.00am – 12noon \nVENUE: Space Gallery\, 1 Shelley St\, Sydney (enter via Erskine St) \nCOST: No cost \nRSVP TO: Kay at kay.k.nicholas@gmail.com or on 0438 469 044 \nRSVP BY: Tuesday 13 August 2019 \nTRANSPORT: Public Transport

SUMMARY:Ladies' Night Out - Marble Bar
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Marble Bar is 123 years old? As far as impressive venues for a cocktail in this town go\, Marble Bar is the one to beat. Pillars made of multi-coloured marble hold up the arches that make this feel more like a gallery than a bar – an impression reinforced by the collection of 14 French realist-style paintings by Julian Ashton. But few galleries also feature two fully stocked cocktail bars prepped and ready to shake up tequila\, elderflower liqueur\, cloudy apple juice\, mint and agave syrup into a long\, tall\, refreshing beverage that has all the holiday vibes of a Margarita\, but without the salty smack. \nIn many ways drinking at Marble Bar feels like time travel – a Victorian-era bar designed to look like something out of the Renaissance and populated by 21st century travellers and inner city types. \nDATE: Wednesday 28 August 2019 \nTIME: 5.30pm to 8.00pm \nVENUE: The Marble Bar\, Hilton Hotel\, Level B1/488 George St\, Sydney NSW 2000 \nCOST: Pay for your own drinks and food at the Bar \nRSVP TO: Sangeeta Gupta on 0423 416 007 or at swicniteout@gmail.com \nRSVP BY: Friday 23rd August 2019 \nTRANSPORT:  Short walk from Town Hall \n
