Robert’s comical lack of DIY experience leads him to seek help from some colourful locals including the no nonsense Kate (Lindsay Duncan)\, an ex-pat making her living selling villas who quickly captures his attention. For Jack\, the state of the house seems to mirror his search for memories of happier times with his mother. He soon falls for Natalia (Valeria Bilello)\, a vivacious young Italian chef\, who restores both body and soul with delights from her local trattoria – until the pair find their developing relationship in jeopardy from Natalia’s jealous and threatening ex-husband. As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory\, they also start to mend their relationship. SUMMARY:Travel Conversations - Zoom Meeting
DESCRIPTION:What a year to have started our Travel Conversations group! Despite the lack of options available we will be holding a meeting in September and invite you to share your travel experiences on one of the following topics: \n\nTravel during Covid times – where have you travelled since June? Did you feel safe\, would you recommend the place you visited\, what do you wish you had done differently?\nFurther Australian travel recommendations\nPacking and planning tips\nPost travel – do you make photo books/albums etc? Can you recommend suppliers or are you interested in doing photo books but don’t know how to do them?\nTravel book library – have you got books that you would be prepared to lend to other members once we have more freedom on travel\, it would be good to start a list of resources available?\nAnything else travel related that you want to talk about\n\nUnfortunately as the current advice is once again to be mindful of how many people you socialise with and to limit numbers in your home\, we will once again be offering this as a zoom meeting unless things substantially change between now and the meeting. \nDATE: Friday 18 September 2020 \nTIME: 9.50am for a 10.00am start \nVENUE: You can decide whether it is your study\, living room or bedroom as it will be a Zoom meeting! \nRSVP TO: Mimi Flaherty Willis and Catherine Marsh at travel.swicsydney@gmail.com \nRSVP BY: Friday 11 September. When you RSVP please let us know what you would like to contribute to the discussion and what questions you would like answered. \n

SUMMARY:Monthly Activity - Architecture Tour of Castlecrag (1st TOUR FULL)
DESCRIPTION:STOP PRESS! Due to popular demand\, this tour is being repeated on 30 September 2020. There are 5 spots available. RSVP details are below. \nThis two hour architecture walk explores one of Sydney’s most picturesque suburbs\, Castlecrag\, with houses by many of Australia’s most interesting practitioners of architecture\, thus the name ‘Hidden Architectural Hot Spot’. \nDiscover the many Griffin pathways winding down and through Castlecrag\, leading to many architectural gems – new\, contemporary and heritage designed houses. \nCastlecrag was recognised as a special place by Canberra’s designer Walter Burley Griffin and his partner Marion Mahony back in the 1920s. They made a plan for Castlecrag to be developed as the perfect garden suburb surrounded by trees. \nTour leader Ben Gerstel is a local architect\, and he will reveal the suburb’s development from its earliest days as well as the most interesting architecture in its hilly streets by architects as familiar as Harry Seidler and as little known as Hugh Buhrich. \nDATE: Thursday 24 September 2020 \nTIME: 10:00am – 12:00 noon \nLIMITED TO MAX 15 PEOPLE \nVENUE: \nMeet at Castlecrag Quadrangle Shopping Village\, 100 Edinburgh Road\, Castlecrag.
