SUMMARY:SWIC's 24th Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Due to continued uncertainty around the planning of large social functions\, the Committee has decided that we will not be able to hold our usual Birthday Lunch in February. It has been decided\, however\, that we should go ahead with our AGM at that time as we are able to book a room large enough to allow for appropriate social distancing and\, in the unlikely event that a last-minute cancellation of the day is necessary\, any costs and upheaval of plans etc. would be at a minimum. Therefore\, \nNOTICE is hereby given that the 24th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of SWIC  will be held: \nOn:      Wednesday\, 10 February 2021 \nAt:       The Kirribilli Club\, 11 Harbourview Crescent\, Lavender Bay\, North Sydney \nAt:       10.45am  for 11.00pm \nPlease Note: The meeting will commence at 11.00 am sharp and only financial members of SWIC are entitled to attend. Please also note that there will be no admission to the room after the meeting has commenced. \nIn addition\, any matter to be put by a member\, or members\, to the AGM for consideration must be in writing (and if in the form of a Resolution\, signed by the Proposer and Seconder) and received by the Secretary of the Club at least twenty-eight (28) days prior to the date fixed for the holding of the meeting. The Agenda for the AGM will be forwarded to members prior to the meeting. \nThe Club is still seeking members to join the Committee in 2021 and is very appreciative of all members who decide to contribute to the running of the Club by nominating to serve on the Committee. This is also the case when any member who has served on a previous SWIC Committee decides\, after several years\, to re-nominate and add her prior experience to an incoming Committee. \nOn behalf of the Committee\, I would like to say that we look forward to hearing from you re attendance at the AGM – and seeing you at the meeting. \nRSVP to say whether you are able or unable to attend\, to the Secretary\, Mimi Flaherty Willis at secretary.swicsydney@gmail.com by 5 February 2021.

SUMMARY:Theatre Group - "Stop Girl" by Sally Sara
DESCRIPTION:Directed by Anne-Louise Sarks \nStarring Sheridan Harbridge (Prima Facie) \nAward-winning ABC foreign correspondent Sally Sara adds playwright to her many accomplishments with the new Belvoir St Theatre show Stop Girl. Drawing on her own experiences as a foreign correspondent\, it stars Sheridan Harbridge (Prima Facie) as a renowned front-line reporter used to throwing herself into the most dangerous situations worldwide. \nBut now she’s back home in Australia and has to readjust to the new normal. How has the country she knows and loves changed while she’s been away? Has she really been able to process everything she’s been through overseas? \nThis insightful look at what it takes to maintain a high-pressure career like this and then settle into a totally different rhythm is ably tackled by An Enemy of The People director Anne-Louise Sarks. \nA ratbaggy\, wise play by a writer who’s seen it all first hand\, and has learnt how to ask the pointed questions.I’m sure everyone’s familiar with Sally Sara from her work at the ABC. She’s lived more than most of us would if we had several lifetimes. And her play is a remarkable debut.
