To quote Mayor Darcy Byrne (Inner West Council) “This beautiful public facility is more than a Library; it is a new town square for Marrickville”.  The building integrates contemporary design and technology with the original\, conserved heritage elements of the main hospital building. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a round trip around historic and beautiful Cremorne Point. This walk takes us along Mosman Bay passing Sydney Amateur Sailing Club and Robertson Lighthouse\, with magnificent vistas of the harbour\, then\, for those who want to\, back for lunch at Mosman Rowers. The walk is 3.5 kms long and takes just over an hour. It will now be rescheduled for June. \nSWIC members are invited to visit Tresillian Wollstonecraft Family Care Centre for a tour and morning tea.  The building\, known as ‘Carpenter House’\, is heritage listed and was bequeathed to Tresillian by the Carpenter family in 1940.  It’s about to undergo a major ‘facelift’ and upgrade. \nTresillian has 15 Family Care Centres across regional NSW\, the ACT and Victoria\, with four in metropolitan Sydney along with a Help Line\, providing nursing and psychology help to weary families with a baby or toddler. Its specialty is to support new Mums and Dads who struggle with the challenges that parenthood can bring. Our speaker\, Nicola Stokes\, is the CEO of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation. It is possible to park somewhere in Avenue Road and catch the bus down to Mosman Bay Wharf\, then it’s a 5 minute walk to the left\, around the top of the bay – Mosman Rowers Restaurant is virtually opposite Mosman Bay Wharf.
