SUMMARY:Easy Walk - Historic Parramatta
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The city that was nearly the capital of NSW! \nThe settlement at Rose Hill\, now Parramatta\, was established in 1788\, a few months after the arrival of the First Fleet in Sydney Cove. The survival of the colony was dependent on the fertile land discovered here\, at the head of the Parramatta River. \nWe will begin our Easy Walk on the river – the route taken by the pioneers – travelling upstream on the Rivercat (now taking 50 minutes instead of several days); the actual walk will take us by many historic buildings and sites\, including the oldest public building and oldest cemetery in mainland Australia. Anyone up for lunch at Old Government House? \nRSVP to Suzanne Harrison at suzdon@bigpond.net.au AND Gerrie Creemers at gerriecr@gmail.com \nYOU CAN PRINT OFF THIS NOTICE BY GOING TO THE TOOLBAR AT THE TOP OF YOUR SCREEN AND CLICKING ON FILE THEN PRINT \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
