SUMMARY:Rummikub (Currently inactive due to Covid-19)
DESCRIPTION:Rummikub is an exciting and fun game\, just right for exercising the little grey cells in our brains\, and making new friends. If you don’t know the game\, it has a bit in common with Rummy\, is very simple to learn\, has lots of twists\, and quickly becomes addictive! \nBeginners are welcome and there is no need to bring your own game. We have two sets. It is possible to play Rummikub with different numbers of people in one game. \nThe Rummikub players meet on the first and third Friday afternoon of each month at the Kirribilli Club in Lavender Bay. We play in an open space in the coffee area. Members can eat at the club if they wish and there is a coffee break between games. \nTIME: 1.00pm – 4.00pm (please arrive on time so a game can start) \nVENUE: The Kirribilli Club\, 11 Harbourside Crescent\, Lavender Bay NSW 2060 \nCOST: Coffee and food at own expense \nCONVENOR: Maureen Trost-black trostblack@hotmail.com \nRSVP BY: Two days prior to the event

SUMMARY:Ladies Who Lunch - Watergrill Bistro\, Kirribilli Club
DESCRIPTION:After many months of uncertainty\, we are finally resuming our monthly lunches in October with some ease of mind. We contacted a number of restaurants on our ‘list” but sadly\, many of them no longer open for lunch during the pandemic\, are closed temporarily until further notice\, or require a deposit to hold a table for a group. We are also not sure how well the lunch will be attended by members given the current situation. \nWe finally decided on Watergrill Bistro at Kirribilli Club in Milsons Point. The food there is good and the view is great. It is an RSL club which means that anyone who resides within 5km radius must become a member for $10 per year\, be a guest of a member of our club\, or be a member of another RSL club and have their RSL membership card present. \nWe can only book a table for 10 people with the current NSW regulations. \nDATE:  7 October 2020 \nTIME: 12.00noon – 2.00pm \nVENUE: Watergrill Bistro\, Kirribilli Club\, 11 Harbourview Crescent\, Lavender Bay NSW 2060 \nCOST: Order and pay for your own food and drink on the day \nRSVP TO: Sandy Tay sgtay@yahoo.com or Sue Roberts at suejackharry@yahoo.com.au \nRSVP BY: 5 October 2020 \nTRANSPORT: Kirribilli Club is 500 metres from Milsons Point Train Station or 850 metres from Milsons Point Ferry Wharf. There are limited parking spaces on the premise that costs $12 per entry. One can usually find a parking space with meter in the surrounding streets.

SUMMARY:Monthly Activity - Ultimo Historical & Architectural Walking Tour (WAITLIST)
DESCRIPTION:Colonial settlement of the inner city urban village of Ultimo began in 1803\, when 34 acres was granted to surgeon\, John Harris\, on lands traditionally inhabited by the Gadigal peoples of the Eora nation. \nIn the 1890s Sydney Technical College was established\, putting Ultimo on the cultural map. Twentieth and twenty-first century additions of educational buildings have reinforced Ultimo’s reputation as a centre for learning\, while its surroundings became increasingly industrial in nature\, including slaughterhouses\, quarrying operations and rental properties. \nOn this two-hour walking tour\, you will see and hear amazing stories about the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre\, a university building that has been described as the most beautiful squashed paper bag\, and a building about a pandemic.  Adding to the tour is a beautifully designed college built in Romanesque Revival Style which features carvings of Australian animals and flowers in the facade. \nThere is so much to see and hear about this urban village\, including the Goods Line which was transformed from a disused freight railway. \nDATE: Thursday 22 October 2020 \nTIME: 10.00am – 12.00pm \nLIMITED TO MAX 15 PEOPLE \nVENUE: Meet at Powerhouse Museum Forecourt\, 500 Harris Street\, Ultimo NSW 2007 \nCOST: $34 per person\, to be paid at the booking. Your name will be confirmed upon the receipt of payment. \nPAYMENT OPTIONS: \nPayment Option 1 (Preferred): By Credit Card through the Payments section of the website \nPayment Option 2: Online (direct deposit) into the SWIC bank account \nAccount Name: SWIC Inc. \nBSB No: 112-879 \nAccount No: 431-019-281 \nDescription: Ultimo + your initial and surname \nRSVP TO: activity.swicsydney@gmail.com Attn. to Kesty Pringgoharjono – Monthly Activities Coordinator – with a note about your payment. \nRSVP BY: 16 October 2020 \nTRANSPORT: There are many options to get to Central Station\, and the Powerhouse Museum is a short walk from there

SUMMARY:Monthly Activity - Ultimo Historical & Architectural Walking Tour (TOUR 2)
DESCRIPTION:Due to popular demand this tour is being repeated on 29 October 2020. \nColonial settlement of the inner city urban village of Ultimo began in 1803\, when 34 acres was granted to surgeon\, John Harris\, on lands traditionally inhabited by the Gadigal peoples of the Eora nation. \nDATE: Thursday 29 October 2020 \nTIME: 10.00am – 12.00pm \nLIMITED TO MAX 15 PEOPLE \nVENUE: Meet at Powerhouse Museum Forecourt\, 500 Harris Street\, Ultimo NSW 2007 \nCOST: $34 per person \nPAYMENT: Pay by credit or debit card on the Payments page of the website. Payment to be paid at the time of booking. Your name will be confirmed upon the receipt of payment.  First come first served. \nRSVP TO: activity.swicsydney@gmail.com Attn. to Kesty Pringgoharjono – Monthly Activities Coordinator – with a note about your payment. \nRSVP BY: 22 October 2020 \nTRANSPORT: There are many options to get to Central Station and the Powerhouse Museum is a short walk from there
