DESCRIPTION:Our last walk of the year will be a twilight walk. Our walk will commence from Spit Bridge and will largely follow the coastline to the Manly Ferry Wharf. The views on offer will be spectacular (similar to the ones in the opposite direction). As loyal supporters over many years SWIC Art & Culture has received the offer of being amongst the first to view the new building and commissioned works. \nWho are the towering bronze beings that greet you at the entrance of the New Sydney Modern? How was an abandoned oil tank turned into a gallery? In this tour\, we explore the art and architecture of the Art Gallery NSW’s new building. Meet the one-of-a-kind artworks created for this space\, from large-scale installations by significant Indigenous artists to new sculptural work by international artists. Discover new galleries and get to know the secrets of Sydney’s most exciting new architectural landmark. \nDATE: Tuesday 13 December 2022 \nTIME: 9.30am – 11.00am (approximately) \nVENUE: Art Gallery of NSW\, on Gadigal Country – Art Gallery Road The Domain\, Sydney NSW 2000 \nMEETING PLACE: The Welcome Hub in the Plaza of the new building.
