DESCRIPTION:Dear Monthly Activists \nThis month we will visit the ANZAC Memorial- right at the heart of our wonderful city.\nDiscover the stories\, stunning Art Deco architecture and commemorative symbolism behind the Anzac Memorial with a free one-hour guided highlights tour. \nLed by knowledgeable guides\, the highlights tour explores the Memorial’s architectural design that dates back to the 1930s\, the more recent award-winning Centenary Extension commemorating over 100 years of service\, and the significance of the Memorial’s many incredible sculptural features. \nThe morning tours also includes the daily Service of Remembrance at 11am\, a special moment to pause and remember those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice. \nIt is an unforgettable way to experience the Anzac Memorial. \nAfter the tour\, visit the Memorial’s permanent exhibition to learn about the experiences of Australian men and women who served in conflict and peacekeeping operations for over a century. \n \nWe will meet in the Vestibule on the Western entrance to the Memorial as indicated below.  On arrival\, please notify the staff at the ground floor reception desk. \nIf required there is storage lockers located on the ground floor\, Hall of Service\, in the hallway opposite the public bathrooms\, ask your guide to assist. \nThe Anzac Memorial has a lift in the Western Vestibule that goes up to the Hall of Service and there are two inclinators in the retail area that go down to the Hall of Service. \nDATE: Thursday 25 January 2024 \nTIME: 10.00am – 12.00pm \nVENUE: ANZAC Memorial Hyde Park \nCOST: FREE- however\, donations will be welcome on the day. \nRSVP TO: swic.activitymonthly@gmail.com\nPlease add your phone number and the name of the outing: ANZAC Memorial to\nCaren Trafford\, Monthly Activity Organiser \nRSVP BY: Thursday 19 January 2024 to Caren Trafford \nTRANSPORT: https://www.anzacmemorial.nsw.gov.au/plan-your-visit/getting-to-memorial
