DESCRIPTION:The SWIC Craft Group (which is actually a ‘needlecraft’ group) meets on the first Friday of the month from March to December. At the beginning of the year  the group has a voluntary ‘show and tell’ of work by those who wish to do so. \nMeetings are held in the homes of those members who are able to host. The format is ‘Open House’ from 12noon to 4.00pm and members are welcome to come for an hour\, or two\, or the whole afternoon. Afternoon tea is provided and members put $4 in the kitty to help cover the hostess’s expenses. \nThe group’s craft interests include knitting\, crochet\, embroidery\, cross stitch\, quilting\, patchwork and tapestry. Usually members bring along their own needlework project\, but there is a supply of yarn to knit and crochet into squares for charity projects. \nContact the Convenor\, Rosemary Sullivan at rsulliva@comcen.com.au for further information.

SUMMARY:EXPLORE SYDNEY WALK – Balmain to Birchgrove
DESCRIPTION:This month we propose a suburban walk through Balmain and Birchgrove. Not only will it be a great day out with something for everyone: 19th Century cottages\, fabulous mansions with harbour views and a village atmosphere\, but also\, it is a leisurely 8km return walk from East Balmain wharf. \nWe will meet at 10am at East Balmain Wharf or at 9.35am at Circular Quay wharf 5 to take the F4 ferry at 9.42 (it stops at Milsons Point and McMahons point as well) \nAt the end of the walk\, if you want to join us\, we’ll have lunch at the East Village Hotel (with a nice terrace). \nDATE: Wednesday\, 26 February 2025. \nTIME: 10 am – 1 pm (+lunch) \nMEETING POINT: Circular Quay or Balmain East Wharf \nCOST: Lunch at your own expense. \nRSVP TO: Corinne Drouin and Anna Weaving via email only on swicdiscoversydneywalks@gmail.com \nRSVP BY: Monday\, 24 February 2025 \nTRANSPORT: Public transport is recommended as it is difficult to park in the area.
