‘Shaken to the Core’ brings together Australian Artist, Sidney Nolan’s, confronting works responding to the Holocaust. This exhibition is of a body of works created by Nolan in 1961 following the Eichmann Trial and a visit to the Auschwitz camp. The works were buried away until they were exhibited for the first time in August 2021 at the Sidney Nolan Trust in Heredfordshire, England.
Please join us in the Auditorium at the Sydney Jewish Museum for a curatorial introduction by our SWIC Member and Museum Guide, Carole Hopper. At the conclusion of Carole’s introduction you will be given a booklet for your own self- guided tour of the exhibition.
Please note this Art & Culture event is on WEDNESDAY 19 October as Tuesday 18 October is a Jewish holiday. Also note the time: 2.00pm-3.30pm to avoid the crowds that this exhibition has attracted. Further organisation information will be provided prior to the visit for those members attending.
