In October we have the wonderful opportunity to do a guided tour of the fabulous Mosman Art Prize.
The Mosman Art Prize is the longest running and most prestigious municipal art prize in Australia. Each year over 800 artists submit their work of which around 90 are chosen to form the Mosman Art Prize exhibition.
The Mosman Art Prize is an acquisitive award of $50,000 sponsored by Mosman Council.
Winning entries form the basis of the Mosman Art Gallery Collection, a valuable and historic collection that surveys Australian painting since 1947.
Previous winners form a roll call of Australian art luminaries amongst whom are Grace Cossington Smith, Lloyd Rees, Guy Warren, Jenny Sages, Cressida Campbell, Jumaadi, Adam Cullen, Jasper Knight and Guan Wei.
The judge of this year’s prize is artist Fiona Lowry.
After our tour there is the opportunity to enjoy a coffee or lunch at one of the many cafes located close to the Gallery.
