Join us on a SWIC Curatorial Guided Tour of Carla Zampatti Powerhouse. This is the first retrospective exhibition of renowned Australian designer, business leader, philanthropist and mentor, Carla Zampatti, AC, OMRI (1938–2021). Encapsulating Zampatti’s trailblazing career from the establishment of her business to her most recent work, the exhibition draws over five decades of material.
The major exhibition features 100 outfits, including personal items from Zampatti’s estate, the Carla Zampatti Fashion Archive, the wardrobes of well-known women and the results of hundreds of responses to a public callout. Highlights include rarely seen designs from her early career and loans from clients including HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

TRANSPORT: The Powerhouse is located at 500 Harris St, Ultimo. Public transport is recommended. There is limited metered street parking near the museum, located on Harris St, Macarthur St and adjacent streets. Wilson Parking 179 Thomas Street, Haymarket (adjacent to Novotel Sydney Central). By Train: The closest train station is Central. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. The Goods Line is a 500m walk along flat terrain starting from the Devonshire Street Tunnel at Central Station’s Southern Concourse. By Bus: Visitors can be dropped off at the bus stop located outside the Powerhouse Museum
