Join us in our beautiful city of Sydney on Tuesday 16 July for a combination of art, history and music.
Firstly meet us at 9.50am for a 10.00am one-hour guided tour of the newly renovated and extended NSW Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park, where we shall delve into the Anzac Memorial’s art, architecture and history and our guide will explain the symbolism and meaning within this sculptural monument.
At 11.00am you are invited to attend the short daily service of remembrance held in recognition of the hour, on 11 November 1918, when the guns fell silent on the Western Front effectively ending the Great War.
After the ceremony we shall walk to Angel Place to attend a Sydney tradition – ‘A Little Lunch Music’ at The City Recital Hall in Angel Place. The July concert, back by popular demand, will be performed by the renowned big-band “Dr V’s Swing Thing” directed by ARIA winning artist Vlad Khusid who will take us through a journey of jazz masterpieces with Sydney jazz vocalist Jo Fabro. The concert commences at 12.30pm and concludes at 1.30pm.
You may wish to stop for a tea/coffee break on the way if time permits or alternatively BYO your own lunch or purchase a light lunch from The Lobby Bar at the Recital Hall. As with tradition you are free to take lunch into the auditorium.
You may choose to attend either or both events but it is essential that you advise us when you RSVP.
