This morning we will do a loop from Manly Wharf, exploring North Head and the Q station and having lunch at Shelly Beach.
From the wharf, we’ll take the bus to the Q station. This enduring part of Sydney’s history once served as the Quarantine Station for migrants arriving in Australia. The buildings have been kept in pristine, original condition and are set in the most glorious 30 hectare site. We will be able to walk around and explore all of these heritage buildings. There is also a small museum next to the cafe on a little beach at the bottom of the park.
From here we will do a lovely bush walk through North Head to Shelly beach where we can have lunch in the Boathouse (https://theboathousesb.com.au/) before walking back to the wharf.
It is a 7km round trip with plenty of time to visit and relax. There are some steps from the bottom of the quarantine station and part of the bush walk is not on the boardwalk. The path is clear and downhill for about 10 minutes.
