‘Yum cha’ literally means drinking tea in the Cantonese dialect. It is used to describe the practice of going for dim sum, the Cantonese tradition of brunch involving Chinese tea and dim sum. Dim sum is a style of Chinese cuisine prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on small plate. Dim sum dishes are usually served with tea and together form a full tea brunch. Yum cha is popular among the Chinese everywhere in the world. It is traditionally enjoyed with a big group of friends or family members.
The month we will sample some of the most typical dim sum dishes at the very popular ‘Marigold Chinese Restaurant’ in the CBD. The dim sum includes 5 different types of dumplings, spring rolls, barbecue pork and more. The lunch will leave you craving for more exotic dim sum dishes in the future.
