Stroll with the expert architect through the hilly terrain of Sydney’s oldest suburb, The Rocks and see how heritage and contemporary architecture co-exist in harmony.
In this two-hour walk, you will discover much more about Sydney’s past, present and future, co-existing in harmony side by side, from the old colonial area to Sydney’s newest urban suburb, Barangaroo.
The walk includes the Barangaroo Point Reserve and Foundation Park. The Rocks’ best kept secret and the ‘ghost houses’ sculpture introduce an element of fantasy, inviting imaginative responses from visitors, giving it a unique ‘secret garden’ character.
You will also witness the metamorphosis of the area into new residential, commercial, recreational and cultural uses of the 21st Century after the port facilities moved away in both Walsh Bay and Barangaroo.
The tour concludes at the controversial brutalist apartment building, The Sirius, and (optional) lunch at somewhere nice, at your own cost.
