NOTICE FOR MOVIE GROUP:

Sad news about ‘our’ cinema, the United Cinema at Opera Quays. It has been
flooded and is temporarily closed for renovations.

So we are ‘homeless’ and will have to change the venue. We have decided that we will meet at the Palace Verona, 17 Oxford Street, Paddington on 22 March at 10.00am and we can discuss what to do next. Options are to meet together and accept the inconvenience of additional travel time, or divide  into Eastern suburbs and North Shore groups until the United Cinema is reopened.

If you can’t make it on Tuesday, please let us know your preferences and watch this space for further updates.

Palace Verona is showing four films on Tuesday 22 March in the morning.

10am – Purple Noon, an adaptation of the novel The Talented Mr Ripley, French film with Alain Delon , 1960.   ( French Film Festival), classic crime thriller .

10.10am – Blind ambition, the story about four Zimbabwean men who form their country first Wine Tasting Olympic team.

10.10am – Bergman Island, two American filmmakers retreat to Faro Island where    Bergman shot his most celebrated films.

10.40am – Quo Vadis, Aida, Aida, an English teacher is trying to save her family from invading Serbian forces during Srebrenica massacre in 1995.

We will meet at Berkelouw book store/ cafe next door to Verona, afterwards.
