DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk around historic Watsons Bay at South Head along the South Head Heritage Trail through the Sydney Harbour National Park. This takes us past a naval base (HMAS Watson)\, Lady Bay nude beach (!) and Hornby Lighthouse\, then back for lunch at the famous Watsons Bay Hotel\, or fish and chips at the beach. There are a few steps and a small beach walk. The walk is 3 kms long and takes about an hour. DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to Short Walks. \nFor this walk there will be two meeting point options. For those interested in walking across the Harbour Bridge to Milsons Point\, we will meet at Circular Quay at 10.30am and join the members who wish to start from Milsons Point at 11.00am.   We will walk along the foreshore taking in Dr Mary Booth Lookout\, Admiralty House\, Lady Gowrie Lookout\, the Ensemble\, Milson Park and Anderson Park\, finishing at Neutral Bay Ferry Wharf.  There will be an opportunity to enjoy a well-earned coffee or brunch at the end of the walk in Hayes Street. DESCRIPTION:Explore Sydney’s red light district by day\, go downhill to the scenic Rushcutters Bay Park\, then walk all along the harbour front towards Darling Point\, taking in the Cruising Yacht Club (CYC) of Australia\, and the Sir David Martin Reserve. If we have time on the way back to Edgecliff Station (and if you have the energy to climb a bit of a hill)\, we can see the lovely sandstone church that Elton John had his (first) marriage in on Valentine’s Day 1984! And there are plenty of nice cafes on the way. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a wander around one of Sydney’s most prized natural attractions.  Covering almost 190 hectares\, Centennial Park was declared a park in 1888 and was the site for the signing of Australia’s Federation on 1 January 1901.  With over 15\,000 trees and abundant wildlife\, as well as beautiful ponds and flower beds\, the parkland offers a great opportunity to kick off our summer Short Walks calendar. \nWe will meet at Centennial Homestead\, just 100m inside the Paddington Gates which are at the junction of Oxford Street\, Lang Street and Moore Park Road.
