SUMMARY:Challenging Walk – Thornleigh to Eastwood
DESCRIPTION:This month’s walk will be a one-way bush walk which begins at the Thornleigh Train Station. It will take us through the northern part of Lane Cove National Park followed by Browns Waterhole Track onto Terrys Creek Walk and finally the Eastwood Train Station. We will have some noodles or a rice dish in an Asian restaurant in Eastwood for those who are interested in staying. \nThe walk is approximately 11km and will take around 3 hours to complete. Although most of the track is flat\, there are approximately 1.8km of steep descending steps at the beginning of the trail\, followed by hard rock path and finally hard dirt trail. This walk involves crossing a creek several times on rocks.  A good level of fitness is required and it is not recommended for people carrying an injury. \nMore details will be sent to members who are participating closer to the event date. \nNOTE: Please note that this month’s walk will be held on the first Monday instead of the first Tuesday of the month to avoid a conflict with the Biggest Morning Tea. \nDATE:  Monday 1 May 2023 \nTIME: 9.30am at Thornleigh Train Station \nVENUE: Thornleigh Train Station. \nRSVP TO: Sandy Tay\, Lining Kendall and Fritzi Casal at swic.challengingwalk@gmail.com \nRSVP BY: 23 April 2023
