DESCRIPTION:Our walk this month will follow the beautiful Bondi coastline\, via Bondi and on to Bronte\, Clovelly\, Coogee and finally South Coogee. You will be able to take in as we go\, the saltwater pools and the magnificent surf crashing upon the rocks. DESCRIPTION:This month’s walk will begin at Manly Wharf. We will walk along the pathway to Shelly Beach\, then up to North Head and return to Manly Wharf via Collins Beach.  Our walk\, through Sydney Harbour National Park has vistas to the Northern Beaches\, Middle Head and the city. The walk is approximately 9 – 10km and will take approx. 3 hours to complete at a steady pace. DESCRIPTION:This month’s walk will begin at Cremorne Point Wharf and will take us past Mosman Bay\, Little Sirius Cove and Taronga Zoo. The footpath will continue to follow the shoreline until we reach Chowder Bay.  A short walk through Sydney Harbour National Park will lead us to our final destination\, Balmoral. \nThe walk is approximately 11km long and will take around 3½ hours to complete. DESCRIPTION:Our walk takes us via the historic Gladesville Hospital grounds to Bedlam Bay. SUMMARY:Challenging Walk - Lavender Bay to Waverton
DESCRIPTION:Hot and humid weather combined with a lot of step climbing will certainly be a challenge for those participating in this month’s walk. A circumnavigation of the coastline of McMahons and Blues Point\, Sawmillers Reserve\, Balls Head Reserve\, the Coal Loader\, Berry Island\, followed by a walk through bushland before eventually arriving at Waverton Station\, will make this walk both a challenge and offer some beautiful views of the harbour. DESCRIPTION:We are sure that you will all be fit and ready for this month’s Challenging Walk as walking was the one thing that we have all been allowed to do during lockdown. \nWe welcome back Jenny as Co-Convenor for the Challenging Walk after her adventure in London. Monique is away visiting family in The Netherlands\, so Catherine and Eleanor have planned the walk and Jenny has kindly agreed to take the RSVPs. \nWe will explore the bays and beaches of Mosman. We will meet near Spit Junction where we will head down to Beauty Point and pick up the beautiful Quakers Hat Bay foreshore walk. We will then walk under Spit Bridge and up Parriwi Rd to Chinaman’s and Balmoral Beaches before ascending to the coastal path towards George’s Head. SUMMARY:Challenging Walk - Collaroy to Manly
DESCRIPTION:This is a very beautiful 11km coastal walk that allows wonderful vistas of the northern beaches coastline. We will be doing a LOT of walking along long stretches of sand. While most of the walk will be fairly flat there are two steep uphill stair climbs at the end of Curl Curl and Fresh Water Beaches. SUMMARY:Challenging Walk - Fullers Bridge to De Burghs Bridge Loop
DESCRIPTION:Our walk this month will be a beautiful bush walk through the northern section of Lane Cove National Park. We will follow the track along the western side of the river to De Burgh Bridge\, cross the bridge\, and then come back along the eastern side. This walk contains some difficult terrain including some clambering over large boulders and traversing a creek. Some of the grade is quite steep and slippery. \nNOTE: We are asking that all participants wear hiking boots to ensure adequate traction on the track. SUMMARY:Challenging Walk - Meadowbank to Parramatta
DESCRIPTION:Important Notice Jenny and Sue are both away for this walk and Elizabeth Gordon has kindly agreed to lead it. \nThe Meadowbank to Parramatta Walk commences at Meadowbank Ferry Wharf\, and follows the northern side of the Parramatta River passing through a number of parks and reserves\, under Silverwater Bridge and on to Rydalmere (John Street) Wharf. The route continues below the former Female Orphan School\, now part of the University of Western Sydney\, before crossing over the bridge at James Ruse Drive and then heading west to Parramatta Wharf\, with an optional further walk to Government House. 10/12km. It is an easy\, flat walk mostly along shared cycle/pathways with no steps or uneven surfaces.
