DESCRIPTION:After many months of uncertainty\, we are finally resuming our monthly lunches in October with some ease of mind. We contacted a number of restaurants on our ‘list” but sadly\, many of them no longer open for lunch during the pandemic\, are closed temporarily until further notice\, or require a deposit to hold a table for a group. We are also not sure how well the lunch will be attended by members given the current situation. \nWe finally decided on Watergrill Bistro at Kirribilli Club in Milsons Point. The food there is good and the view is great. It is used to describe the practice of going for dim sum\, the Cantonese tradition of brunch involving Chinese tea and dim sum. Dim sum is a style of Chinese cuisine prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on small plate. Dim sum dishes are usually served with tea and together form a full tea brunch. Yum cha is popular among the Chinese everywhere in the world. It is traditionally enjoyed with a big group of friends or family members. \nThe month we will sample some of the most typical dim sum dishes at the very popular ‘Marigold Chinese Restaurant’ in the CBD.
