DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nJulie Fragar with her 2025 Archibald Prize–winning Work\, Flagship Mother Multiverse. \nCan you believe it’s been a year already! The always fabulous\, interesting\, controversial\, must-see Archibald\, Wynne and Sulman Exhibition returns to NSW Art Gallery. We have the pleasure of being guided around the artworks by the incredible Les Moseley (for those who are new to Art and Culture\, Les is a favourite of SWIC) \nIf you only do one tour with SWIC Art and Culture\, this is the one to do. \nThe Archibald\, Wynne and Sulman Prizes delight and surprise audiences every year with fresh presentations of contemporary Australian painting and sculpture. \nAt its heart\, the Archibald Prize is about storytelling. Les has all the behind-the-scenes information on every entry and brings each piece to life for us. \nThe Wynne Prize celebrates two major categories of art: Australian landscape painting and figurative sculpture. The Sulman Prize is for a subject painting\, a genre painting\, or a mural project. \nCheck out www.nswartgallery.org.au for all the events happening during the exhibition or follow on all social media platforms to stay connected with events. \nMORNING TEA (Optional) In February\, we had our first pre-booked morning tea after the tour. It was a pleasure to come down the escalator and see our reserved table\, set with delicious morsels of yummy food waiting for us. As the Archibalds are one of the most popular exhibitions hosted by the Gallery\, we have decided to offer this option again to ensure we sit together and not have to wait in long lines. The Gallery has said\, due to the busyness of the exhibition\, we may not be able to add latecomers to our table\, so please do think about joining us to ensure you’re included. \nThe cost is an additional $16.80 per person and includes the following: \nMini muffins (gf)\, frittata of the day (gf)\, Batch-brewed Single O coffee and tea selection and Filtered Water on tables. \nIf you would like to join us\, please add this to the price of your participation in this month’s event. If you have dietary requirements\, let us know when you RSVP. \nDATE: Tuesday\, June 16\, 2026 \nTIME: 9.15 am for 9.30 am start. \nTOUR DURATION: One hour (or thereabouts\, plus morning tea for those who opt in) \nVENUE: NSW Art Gallery\, Naala Badu Building (the ‘main’ building) \nADDRESS: Gallery Road\, The Domain \nTRANSPORT OPTIONS: \nTrain: St James and Martin Place stations are both about a 10-minute walk. \nBus: Bus 441 Departs from the York Street side of the QVB (Stand D) and the bus stops outside the Gallery. Return trip same. \nMetro: Gadigal Metro Station (walk or catch 441 bus) and Martin Place Metro (walk through park) \nParking Stations: Domain Car Park\, The Wharf\, and Woolloomooloo Car Park can be booked in advance and are within walking distance. \nAn email will be sent to participants on Sunday night before the outing.
