SUMMARY:Challenging Walk – Lane Cove National Park
DESCRIPTION:We will walk the ~10.5km Riverside circuit which meanders through natural bushland and a string of picturesque picnic areas in Lane Cove National Park\, just north of the Sydney CBD. Following the southern bank of Lane Cove River\, from the weir near Delhi Road to Deburghs Bridge\, the scenic walk takes in peaceful bush settings where you can stop and enjoy tranquil river views. This walk includes short steep hills and steps. It is a formed track with some obstacles. You should not be carrying any injuries and be able to walk consistently at a moderate pace. \nDATE: Tuesday 3 September \nTIME: 10:00 – 1:30 approximate (includes time for lunch) \nVENUE: Meet at the Koonjeree Picnic area in the Lane Cove National Park. \n \n  \nCOST: $8 parking fee. Public transport expenses as required. Bring a picnic lunch. SUMMARY:Challenging Walk – Lane Cove National Park
DESCRIPTION:Our first walk of 2023 will be in Lane Cove National Park\, a beautiful pocket of bushland that sits either side of the peaceful Lane Cove river. We will follow the riverside walk for 5km before crossing over and returning via the northern riverbank along the Great North Walk. \nThe walk is approximately 11-12km long and will take about three hours to complete at a steady pace. We will follow the track along the western side of the river to De Burgh Bridge\, cross the bridge\, and then come back along the eastern side. This walk contains some difficult terrain including some clambering over large boulders and traversing a creek. Some of the grade is quite steep and slippery. \nNOTE: We are asking that all participants wear hiking boots to ensure adequate traction on the track. DESCRIPTION:This walk is approximately 6–7 kms along the river path starting at Fuller’s  Bridge. There are some steep inclines and steps but it is a mainly flat bush  walk.  We shall continue along the track until we reach Scenic Drive. From there we will walk along the road back to  where we   started at  Fuller’s  Bridge.
