The café is in leafy tree-lined and landscaped Bourke St. The décor is pleasant with air plants and driftwood hanging from the ceiling and the staff are attentive and friendly. Chef/Owner Kenny was previously head chef at well-known ‘Bills’ in Darlinghurst.
Kentaro Café is fusion Japanese. The signature dish is Katso – pork filet, cabbage, Japanese BBQ & Mustard $13. Japanese Poutine $15. Umani wild mushrooms sautéed with miso & butter & goats cheese $15. There is a selection of Matcha flavoured treats – the Matcha cream puffs are exquisite. Freshly squeezed juice around $6.
